Auburn City Rec Golf provides a fun and recreational activity that allows girls and boys to participate and learn the fundamentals of golf. Our goal is to provide each player with a positive learning experience.
Each golf session will be Tuesday mornings at the Auburn Country Club. These will run the month of June.
Ages 5-6 – 9:00am – 9:30am
Ages 7-9 – 9:30am – 10:00am
Ages 10-14 – 10:00am – 11:30am
The format for these groups will be different this year. The two younger age groups will still work on developing the fundamentals such as putting, chipping, irons and driving.
The older age group, ages 10-14, will be golfers who are ready for a more structured, league-style experience. This group will be divided up in to groups/teams. Each group/team will go out with an adult and play as many holes as they can get within the allotted time frame. Players will spend the majority of their time practicing and playing directly on the course, allowing for real-world application of skills and decision-making. Participants will also strengthen their understanding of golf etiquette, pace of play, sportsmanship, and on-course awareness — all essential components of becoming a well-rounded golfer.
