There are two sessions available, each with its own registration fee. Session 1 runs from late October through December, and Session 2 is from January to March.
In the first session, girls will play in 3-4 tournaments, with two funded by the city and the others requiring sponsorship from businesses or parents. The second session will feature the Southeast Nebraska League and two additional tournaments.
Second-grade girls in City Rec Basketball will have a different experience from grades 3-6 due to the limited number of games for their age group.
Auburn City Rec Youth Basketball provides a fun way for girls to learn basketball fundamentals while ensuring a positive experience for each player.
Equipment: Girls will purchase their own jerseys that they will wear for multiple seasons. Once sign-ups close, you will receive a Google form to place your girl's name, jersey size, and desired number (numbers will be given on a first-come, first-served basis). Only jersey tops will be purchased through City Rec. Each girl will need to supply their own black shorts. The supplied uniforms will be required for all games. If your daughter already owns her jersey from a previous season, you are not required to buy a new jersey. Players are required to have basketball/indoor shoes. Please bring a water bottle.
Practice and Game Schedule: Signing up for City Rec basketball requires commitment to the sport and team. You are required
to attend all practices and games. If your daughter has a previous long-standing commitment, please give those date(s) to the coaches at the beginning of the season so they can plan accordingly. Please contact your coach if your daughter is sick and will miss practice.
The coaches will schedule practices. The availability of tournaments and the dates vary by grade level. Coaches will post dates for practices and games on TeamSnap. Be aware that dates and times of games will be different for all teams. As previously stated above, Second grade, entry level to City Rec Girls Basketball, will look slightly different than grades 3-6. This is mostly due to the limited games available for that age group.
Coaches: Once the coaches' meeting takes place, your daughter’s coach will contact you. This will be the first notification you receive after signups. If you have not heard from a coach by October 15th, please call the Commissioner.

Tournaments: Each grade division will attempt to play at least 2 tournaments in addition to the league. We hope to host a local tournament in January 2025.
